Indian Railways to increase passenger fare, freight tariff by 2 per cent
பயணிகளின் இரயில் பயண கட்டணத்தை 2% முதல் 3% வரை வரும் அக்டோபர் 7ம் தேதி முதல் உயர்த்த மத்திய ரயில்வே துறை அமைச்சகம் முடிவு செய்திருப்பதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.
மத்திய ரயில்வே பட்ஜெட்டில், டீசல் விலைக்கு ஏற்ப 6 மாதத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை பயணிகள் மற்றும் சரக்கு இரயில் கட்டணத்தை உயர்த்திக்கொள்ள முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. இவ்வாறு கடந்த ஏப்ரல் 1-ம் தேதி உயர்த்தப்பட்ட சரக்கு ரயில் கட்டணம், மீண்டும் கடந்த 1ம் தேதி முதல் 15 % உயர்த்தப்பட்டது.
நேற்று பத்திரிகை நிருபர்களுக்கு பேட்டி கொடுத்த மத்திய இரயில்வே துறை அமைச்சர் மல்லிகார்ஜூன கார்கே, பயணிகள் இரயில் கட்டணத்தை கூடுதலாக்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாக கூறினார்.
இந்நிலையில், பயணிகளின் இரயில் கட்டணத்தை 2 முதல் 5 % வரை கூடுதலாக்க இரயில்வே அமைச்சகம் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன. மேலும் இந்த கட்டண உயர்வு அகடோபர் 7 முதல் அமலுக்கு வரும் என்று நம்பபடுகிறது.

Indian Railways have decided to hike passenger’s fare and freight tariff by about 2 % from next week to set right the financial burden arose out of increased input and working cost. Indian Railways is expected to mop up about Rs 1250 crore from the hike in the last six months of the current fiscal, sources in the ministry said. The suburban and non-suburban fares would, however, remain untouched. The decision on the fresh round of hike has been taken under the system of fuel adjustment component (FAC) about which an announcement was made in the 2011-12 railway budget.
