தட்டைக் கழுவி உணவு பரிமாற மறுத்த சிறுவனை ஆத்திரத்தில் சுட்டுக் கொன்ற வாடிக்கையாளரை உத்திரப்பிரதேச போலீசார் தேடி வருகின்றனர். உத்தரப்பிரதேசம், முஜாபர்நகர் அருகில் உள்ள ஷாலி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள சிறிய ஹோட்டல் ஒன்றில் 11வயது சிறுவன் ஒருவன் வேலை பார்த்து வந்தான். அச்சிறுவன் தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட சாதியைச் சேர்ந்தவன் எனச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. சம்பவத்தன்று, ஹோட்டலுக்கு சாப்பிட வந்த ஜக்பால் என்ற வாடிக்கையாளர், தட்டு அசுத்தமாக இருப்பதாகக் கூறி, தட்டை மீண்டும் கழுவி எடுத்து வருமாறு அச்சிறுவனிடம் கூறியுள்ளார். ஆனால், அதனைச் செய்ய சிறுவன் மறுத்ததாகத் தெரிகிறது. இதனால் ஆத்திரமடைந்த ஜக்பால், மறைத்து வைத்திருந்த துப்பாக்கியை எடுத்து அச்சிறுவனைச் சுட்டுக் கொன்றுள்ளான். இதில், சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே அச்சிறுவன் பரிதாபமாக பலியானான். தகவலறிந்து சம்பவ இடத்திற்கு விரைந்து வந்த போலீசார், சிறுவனின் உடலைக் கைப்பற்றி பிரேத பரிசோதனைக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தனர். தலைமறைவாக உள்ள ஜக்பாலைத் தேடும் பணி முடுக்கி விடப்பட்டுள்ளதாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார் போலீஸ் தலைமை கண்காணிப்பாளர் பிரகாஷ் குமார்.

An 11-year-old boy was allegedly shot dead on Monday night for refusing to clean plates at the dhaba he worked at, in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. District police officials said the accused in the case has been identified as Jagpal Pandit, a resident of the area, who is on the run. Senior police officers said the incident took place at 11.15 pm at the eatery near the Saharanpur crossing in Shamli. “The boy worked at the dhaba to earn some extra money for his family. His father, works at a shop which sells household items nearby, and lived in the lane behind the row of shops,” a police officer said.

At around 11.15 pm, the accused allegedly walked into the shop and told the victim to bring him food. “Eyewitnesses have told us that he spoke abusively and may have been drunk. At one point, he asked the boy to clean his plates, and when the victim refused, he pulled out his gun and shot the victim in the stomach. Though this is a matter of investigation, the accused also used discriminatory language. The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared brought dead on arrival,” said the officer. The officer added that Jagpal was not found at his home. “A case was immediately registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to murder as well as provisions of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. The body was sent for post-mortem and subsequently returned to the family,” the officer said.
