சென்னை அண்ணா நகரில் டாக்டரை கட்டிப்போட்டு துப்பாக்கிமுனையில் 75 சவரன் நகைகள், 4 லட்சம் ரொக்கம் கொள்ளையடிக்கப்பட்டது. சென்னை அண்ணாநகர் கிழக்கு 15-வது தெரு ‘க்யூ’ பிளாக்கில் வசித்து வருபவர் டாக்டர் ஆனந்தன். இவர் சென்னை அரும்பாக்கத்தில் உள்ள பிரபல தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் இருதய சிகிச்சை பிரிவு மருத்துவராக உள்ளார். இவருடைய மகன் சென்னையில் உள்ள தனியார் மருத்துவ கல்லூரியில் 2-ம் ஆண்டு எம்.பி.பி.எஸ். படித்து வருகிறார். நேற்று ஆனந்தன், தனது மனைவி, பெரியம்மா மற்றும் வேலைக்கார பெண் மீனாவுடன் வீட்டில் இருந்தார். இந்த நிலையில் நேற்று மாலை 5 மணியளவில் டாக்டர் ஆனந்தன் வீட்டுக்குள் 2 மர்ம நபர்கள் புகுந்தனர். அவர்கள் திடீரென்று தாங்கள் கொண்டு வந்த துப்பாக்கியை காட்டி ஆனந்தனை மிரட்டி வீட்டின் பீரோ சாவியை வாங்கினர். பீரோவில் இருந்த ரூ.3 லட்சம் பணம், 75 சவரன் நகைகளை கொள்ளையடித்தனர். பின்னர் ஆனந்தனையும், அவருடைய மனைவி, பெரியம்மா, வேலைக்காரி மீனாவையும் அறையில் கட்டிப்போட்டுவிட்டு அந்த 2 மர்ம நபர்களும் கொள்ளையடித்த பணம், நகைகளுடன் தப்பினர். இந்த நிலையில் வெளியில் இருந்து வீடு திரும்பிய ஆனந்தனின் மகன், தனது பெற்றோர் மற்றும் பெரியம்மா, வேலைக்காரி கை-கால் கட்டப்பட்ட நிலையில் கிடந்ததை கண்டு அதிர்ச்சியடைந்தார். பின்னர் அவர் இதுதொடர்பாக அண்ணாநகர் போலீஸ் நிலையத்துக்கு தகவல் கொடுத்தார். அண்ணாநகர் போலீசார் சம்பவ இடத்துக்கு விரைந்து வந்து விசாரணை மேற்கொண்டனர். முதற்கட்ட விசாரணையில் போலீசாருக்கு ஆனந்தன் வீட்டில் வேலை செய்யும் கொல்கத்தாவை சேர்ந்த வேலைக்கார பெண் மீனா மீது சந்தேகம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இதையடுத்து போலீசார் மீனாவை காவல் நிலையத்துக்கு அழைத்து சென்று விசாரணை மேற்கொண்டனர். மீனா கொடுத்த தகவலின் பேரில் தான் இந்த துணிகர கொள்ளை நடைபெற்று இருக்கலாம் என்றும், அவருடைய கணவர் இம்ரான் மற்றும் அவனது நண்பன் சேர்ந்தே கொள்ளையடித்திருக்க வாய்ப்பு இருக்கலாம் என்றும் போலீசார் கருதுகின்றனர். கொள்ளை நடந்த டாக்டர் ஆனந்தன் வீடு திரைப்பட நடிகர் லிவிங்ஸ்டன் வசித்த வீடாகும். கடந்த 5 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இந்த வீட்டை டாக்டர் ஆனந்தனுக்கு நடிகர் லிவிங்ஸ்டன் விற்றுவிட்டார்.

In a daring robbery, allegedly at gunpoint, two men took away Rs. 3.5 lakh and gold jewellery weighing 75 sovereigns from the residence of a cardiologist in Anna Nagar East on Tuesday evening. The robbers gagged and tied up the cardiologist’s wife and elderly mother before making away with the valuables. According to the Anna Nagar police, the armed robbery took place at the bungalow of R. Anandan, cardio-thoracic surgeon with M.R. Hospital in Aminjikarai, on 15 Street, Q Block, Anna Nagar East, around 4.50 p.m. The doctor was not at home. “Two men, who spoke in Hindi, came to the doctor’s house in a car and barged into the drawing room on the ground floor, brandishing a pistol,” said an investigating officer. The suspects threatened the women into silence before looting the house. Struck with fear, the doctor’s wife directed the robbers to the safe on the ground floor, which contained over Rs. 3.5 lakh, and also to the 75 sovereigns of gold placed in an almirah on the first floor. The duo gagged and tied up both women before slipping away, said the officer. It is however suspected the women were threatened at gunpoint, though the police refused to confirm this. The incident came to light only after Dr. Anandan returned home around 5.40 p.m. after the day’s work. He informed the police. The Anna Nagar police team rushed to the spot and carried out investigations. After news of the robbery leaked out, police personnel did not allow mediapersons anywhere near the crime scene, and refused to divulge any additional information.
