32 children die in Colombia bus fire
கொலம்பியாவில் சாலையில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்த பேருந்தில் திடீரென ஏற்பட்ட தீ விபத்தில் அதில் பயணம் செய்த 32 குழந்தைகள் பரிதாபமாகப் பலியானார்கள். மேலும், படுகாயமடைந்த 18 பேர் மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சைப் பெற்று வருகின்றனர். கொலம்பியாவின் தலைநகரான பகோட்டா நகரில் இருந்து சுமார் 750 கிலோ மீட்டர் தூரத்தில் உள்ள ஃபண்டாசியன் என்ற நகரின் சாலையில் பேருந்து ஒன்று சென்று கொண்டிருந்தது. பேருந்தில் பயணித்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் அங்கிருந்த தேவாலயம் ஒன்றில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கேற்று விட்டு திரும்பிக் கொண்டிருந்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது. சாலையில் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருந்த போது திடீரென பேருந்தில் தீ பிடித்தது. கண்ணிமைக்கும் நேரத்தில் மளமளவென்று பரவியது. இதனால் பேருந்தில் பயணம் செய்த 14 வயதுக்குட்பட்ட குழந்தைகள் சுமார் 32 பேர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே பலியானதாக அங்கிருந்து வரும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. தகவல் அறிந்து சம்பவ இடத்திற்கு விரைந்து வந்த போலீசார் கடுமையான தீக்காயங்களுடன் உயிருக்குப் போராடிக் கொண்டிருந்த 18 பயணிகளை மீட்டு சிகிச்சைக்காக மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்த்தனர். சிகிச்சைப் பெற்று வரும் பயணிகள் பலரின் நிலைமை கவலைக்கிடமாக இருப்பதால் பலி எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரிக்க கூடும் என அஞ்சப்படுகிறது. விபத்தில் சிக்கிய பேருந்து சுமார் 38 பேர் வரை மட்டுமே பயணம் செய்ய உகந்தது என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்த கோர விபத்து தொடர்பாக வழக்குப்பதிவு செய்துள்ள போலீசார், விபத்துக்கான காரணம் குறித்து விசாரித்து வருகின்றனர்.

At least 32 children were burnt to death Sunday when their bus caught fire in Colombia, authorities said. The incident took place near the town of Fundacion in Magdalena department. Magdalena police chief Adan Leon said that 18 people were rescued, but they suffered various injuries. They were being treated at nearby hospitals. The fire broke out when they were returning from an event at an evangelical Christian church near the city of Fundacion, 750 km north of Bogota. It is not known how the fire started, but local media said the bus may have been used for smuggling petrol, Leon said. Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos expressed his condolences on his Twitter account and said he would visit the city soon.
