Kabaddi champ sits on dharna
கடந்த 2012-ம் ஆண்டு நடந்த பெண்கள் உலகக்கோப்பை கபடி போட்டியில் இந்திய அணி கோப்பையை வென்றது. வெற்றிப்பெற்று இந்தியா திரும்பிய இந்திய அணி வீராங்கனைகளுக்கு உற்சாக வரவேற்பு அளிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த அணியில் ஜார்கண்ட் மாநிலத்தை சேர்ந்த வீராங்கனை விந்தியாவாசினியும் இடம் பெற்றிருந்தார். பின்னர் தனது சொந்த மாநிலத்திற்கு வந்த விந்தியாவாசினிக்கு அப்போது முதல்வராக இருந்த அர்ஜூன் முண்டாவின் அரசு வேலை தருவதாக உறுதியளித்தது. ஆனால் அந்த ஆட்சி முடிவுபெற்றது. அதையடுத்து ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த ஹேமந்த் சோரனும் இரண்டு முறை வேலை கொடுப்பதாக விந்தியாவாசினிக்கு உறுதியளித்தார். ஆனால், அவர்களின் வாக்குறுதிக்கு ஏற்ப வேலை கிடைக்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்த்த விந்தியாவாசினி ஏமாற்றம் அடைந்தார்.
நான்கு சகோதரிகளுடன் வாழ்ந்த அவரது குடும்பம் மிகவும் வறுமையில் வாடி வருகிறது. இதையடுத்து இந்தியாவிற்கு பெருமை அந்த வீராங்கனை நேற்று வேலை கேட்டு பொகாரோ துணை கமிஷனர் அலுவலகம் முன்பு ஒரு நாள் தர்ணா நடத்தினார். ஆனால் அவரது கோரிக்கையை ஏற்க எந்த அரசு அதிகாரியும் முன்வரவில்லை.
போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்ட விந்தியாவாசினி இது குறித்து,”சர்வதேச விளையாட்டுகளில் வெற்றி பெறுபவருக்கு அரசு வேலை வழங்கவேண்டும் என்று அரசின் கொள்கை இருக்கிறது. ஆனால், இவர்கள் எனக்கு வேலை தர மறுத்து வருகிறார்கள். அவர்கள் கொடுத்த வாக்குறுதியை இன்னும் 10 நாட்களில் நிறைவேற்றாவிட்டால், எனது குடும்பத்துடன் தலைநகர் ராஞ்சியில் போராட்டம் நடத்துவேன்.”என்று அவர் கூறினார்.

The 24-year-old kabaddi world cup gold medallist, whose “satisfactory” meeting with chief minister Hemant Soren on January 21 did not bag her any state job or cash reward, sat on a dharna in Bokaro on Wednesday from 9.30am. She was not alone. Sitting in solidarity outside Bokaro deputy commissioner’s office in Sector I were Vindhyavasini’s younger sisters Amrita and Hemlata, mother Indu Bala and around 35 other sportspersons. Vindhyavasini demanded three things — a state job, Rs 10 lakh that was promised by former chief minister Arjun Munda and a monthly scholarship of Rs 10,000, guaranteed by former Bokaro deputy commissioner Sunil Kumar. After five hours, the sportswoman finally got a chance to meet DC Uma Shankar Singh. The girl then handed him over a memorandum to Singh. Later, Vindhyavasini told The Telegraph that the deputy commissioner promised to do his best. “He told me he would send his recommendations to the chief minister’s office,” she added. The kabaddi champ recalled that when she met Hemant in Ranchi with her demand of a state job on January 21, the chief minister had asked for 10 days’ time. Those 10 days are over. Vindhyavasini was part of Team India that won gold in the first women’s Kabaddi World Cup in Patna on March 4, 2012, defeating Iran 25-19. Soon after the win, the then chief minister Arjun Munda had announced a job for the kabaddi champ, besides Rs 10 lakh in cash.
