Air India Flight returns to Newark Liberty’s Airport after engine catches fire

On Sunday, officials at the airport confirmed that an Air India Flight returned to Newark Liberty’s International Airport, after it was found that the Plane’s Engine got overheated and as a result caught fire. As many as 313 passengers were on board. Erica Dumas, a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said that earlier it was found that a bird hit was the reason of fire in the engine, but later on it was found that the overheat in the engine caused fire. As per reports, within a few minutes of the flight’s take-off, pilot of the Air India Flight 144 reported that the engine was on fire and after reporting the same, the plane returned back to the airport after half an hour. Talking on the same, Dumas said that though there were no casualties, the pilot asked for an ambulance at the terminal. Dumas also said that the flight to Mumbai had number of blown tires that might have been caused by the overheating of the breaks. Later on the airline tried to arrange an alternate flight for its passengers.
